HURLEY, Miss (WALA) – Investigators say an attentive Mississippi vet foiled a potential bank robber’s plan to block a Hurley bank for the second time.
Dr Brandy Fraser is your typical vet, but on Thursday she helped catch a suspected bank robber who investigators say attempted to rob the same bank twice.
âI looked out the window and here he is walking through and it’s almost like I’m having chills,â she said.
The person she saw, Jeremey Branch, a 40-year-old resident of Chickasaw. She recognized him as the suspect who she said robbed the nearby Navigator credit union in March. She says that during this crime the thief left some money.
Once she realized it was the same guy she saw in March, she called 911. She says the guy left, but returned shortly after and that’s when. there he was arrested.
“It’s nice to know that these two bank tellers who went through a traumatic experience and didn’t know what could happen now can go to bed at night while he got caught,” Fraser said.
The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said once Branch was arrested on Thursday they found a note in his pocket saying he was armed and wanted money.
Investigators said Branch was on bail for a bank robbery in Moss Point in January.
âI’m glad he’s the right guy and I’m glad there is a little bit of closure for them,â Fraser said.
Branch faces three counts of armed robbery. He is being held without bail.
